Afrovibes festival, born in 1994 in netherland, founded on South Africa’s urban stories presented by African artists that speak about the collective memory of “who we are ?”, and life in South Africa today. From 8 to 11 October, the theme of Afrovibes festival is “New Heroes and Icons”. These stories will link Africa with the world.It takes place in different cities in the Netherland, especially in Amsterdam, it organizes small scale activities like film programmes,debates, and lectures.
This year, at the eleventh edition, the Afrovibes festival features a large varities of unique artists and performances from Africa, Netherland, and all around the Globe.It also introduce a vaste selection of young and urban music, theatre dance and design.
Festival’s high lights:
Biko’s Quest: a collaboration between the Jazzart dance, theatre and Steve Biko Foundation.
Uncles & Angels: a dance-video combination between Nelisiwe Xaba and Mocke J van Veuren.
The Revivalists : Since 2007, The group’s fusion between danceable rock and soulful song-writing comes to life through a meticulously created live performance.
